The idea started, as the best ideas do, with a joke in a meeting. Someone said the site needed more energy, and someone else said, “Then let’s literally make it jump.” A few days later the white studio was booked, the lights were set to a warm glow and two dancers arrived with outfits so glossy they reflected the ceiling: one in midnight black, one in a blue bright enough to wake you up.
The brief was simple. Walk in from opposite sides, meet in the middle, turn the name into a stage and leave with a little flourish. Of course nothing in a dance studio stays simple for long. The first take was too polite. The second one had too much hair flipping and not enough stepping. By the fifth take the dancers had stopped following the plan and started having fun, and that was the one that made the cut.
Watch closely and you’ll see the moment the whole thing clicks. The two of them glance at each other, grin, and launch into a spin that nobody rehearsed. The logo sits calmly in the middle like a host at a party while the guests steal the show.
Now for a little behind-the-scenes secret. The slogan under the name, Leaping ahead of the news, wasn’t written first. It was written after the shoot, when the team watched the footage back and realised the dancers really were leaping. Sometimes the picture writes the caption for you.
